Welcome to the inaugural ZenMunni financial blog.
“Dare you to move” was a hit song by the rock band Switchfoot, released in 2004. The lyrics relevant then, are relevant now. Even 20 years later.

“Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone’s here
Everyone’s here
Everybody’s watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?
I dare you to move
I dare you to move”
Artist: Switchfoot – verse one of the song: Dare you to move off the album The Beautiful Letdown
Inspiring lyrics, the challenge is on! Did you make it through Janu-worry? How are those New Year’s resolutions going? Will 2024 be your year to thrive financially? This leaves you at a fork in the road. You can either just hope your finances will improve or you can do more, join the resistance, become a rebel, and start a movement, your movement, to change your financial well-being!
“Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be”
Artist: Switchfoot – verse two of the song: Dare you to move off the album The Beautiful Letdown
It starts with a mind-shift change that if you dare to move toward financial well-being, you are much more likely to have a financially successful 2024. If you’re not quite there yet and don’t understand what a ‘move’ means today’s blog is for you.
Hoping that your finances will be better this year is not a bad thing. In fact, hope is a good thing, and very important. However, hope is like a seed. If you don’t plant that seed and water it, it will not grow. The same with the hope of improving your personal finances. Without having a well-thought-through, realistic, and actionable plan your hope for a better financial future in 2024 is left to chance. Without conscious focus (what we like to call “money mindfulness”) there is a greater probability that your financial position will deteriorate, even if you earn a salary. Warren Buffet famously said “Never depend on a single income. Make an investment to create a second source.”
If you take on the challenge and dare to move, decide to be much more intentional with your finances, like putting in place a financial goal plan! That is how you get intentional.
